In the Revised Comprehensive Guidelines for Management of COVID-19 in Children and Adolescents (below 18 years), the government has said that antiviral drugs or monoclonal antibodies are not recommended for individuals below 18 years of age, regardless of the severity of illness. It further said that if steroids are used, they should be tapered off over 10 to 14 days, based on clinical improvement.
The health ministry further stated that masks are not recommended for children five years of age and below. Children aged between 6 and 11 years may wear it depending on the child’s ability to use a mask safely and properly under parents’ supervision. Those aged 12 years and over must wear a mask under the same conditions as adults… (NDTV – PTI, January 20, 2022)
